ELIZABETH NICHOLS
ABOUT ELIZABETH NICHOLS:
Elizabeth Nichols has a gift for telling it like it is, even if it sometimes gets her in trouble. “I sing like I talk, and my lyrics are like diary entries,” Nichols says. “I was so scared when my songs starting popping online, because they’re very detailed and there’s no question who they’re about.”
Born in Texas, raised on a Kentucky farm, and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the heart of the Bible Belt, Nichols became a TikTok phenomenon for her original songs like “Ain’t Country,” “Sweet Cigarette,” and “Okie Boys.” Nichols, who fell in love with the country storytelling of legends like Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, and John Prine, had cultivated a following in just a few short months, attracting listeners with her plainspoken and often humorous songs about life as a 22-year-old. Her writing style comes with a sweet drawl that’s both relatable and disarming. “My music is such a part of me. It’s a gift from God and a blessing that I get to do this,” Nichols says. “The thing about art that I like so much is that it’s meant to be shared. My goal with my writing is to make somebody feel something or think something. If I’ve done that, I’m happy.”
