Unique in its musical arsenal is the inclusion Viza continues to captivate the global music scene with an erratically amusing blend of energized international rock. Unique in its musical arsenal is the inclusion of oud and percussion blended with more traditional rock elements such as guitar, bass and drums. This fascinating fusion, combined with dramatic and powerful live performances have garnered Viza significant success all over the world.

Recorded by Jared Gosselin (D12, Macy Gray) at Frank Zappa’s UMRK Studios, Viza’s fifth album, “Carnivalia” is the band’s most animated work – a journey through a symbolic theme park derived from satirical and dramatic influences. Inspired from Gogol Bordello’s multicultural rhapsodies and System of a Down’s notorious screams and riffs, Carnivalia embodies Viza’s groundbreaking songwriting and experimentation which has amazed audiences with a mesmerizing blend of instruments, various styles and continued evolution of Viza’s sound.

In September 2012, Viza will embark on its second tour with System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian for his “Harakiri” World Tour, a nearly 6 week endeavor featuring 19 performances all around the world. In 2010, Viza also supported Tankian’s "Imperfect Harmonies" Tour in Europe in the cities of Hamburg, Cologne, Paris, Zurich, Bologna, Athens and Yerevan. “Loving the new record; Carnivalia’s awesome. I love hearing the new influences and the fun loving spirit and musical wizardry. Overall a really great effort,” said Tankian. “Viza is one of the most unique and interesting bands I have ever encountered. Their live shows are energetic and fun,” he added. Tankian has worked extensively with the group, serving as Executive Producer of Viza’s previous album entitled “Made In Chernobyl”, and also sang as a guest vocalist on the album’s “Viktor” track.

Formerly known as Visa, the band released two EPs and two full length albums, along with a award winning music video. The band's De Facto, Eros and Made In Chernobyl albums incorporated music pervaded with sonorities from various influences and musical styles and blended elements of aggressive rock, dance and satirical social commentary.

Among the band’s extensive touring schedule, Viza has performed at one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious music events at Hungary’s Sziget Festival’s mainstage (alongside Korn, The Killers, Axwell, The Vaccines, The XX among several others) as part of a month long European tour in August 2012. Viza has also performed at Sweden’s Malmofestivalen, Norway's Kartfestivalen, Slovenia's Schengenfest and Trnfest and Greece’s Rockwave Festival (alongside The Prodigy, Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly, Marky Ramone’s Blitzkreig), and has toured Europe 6 times in the past 2 years alone.

Demonstrating a knack for reinventing old rock classics, Viza recently covered the Doors tune "Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)" by adding its own strong seasonings and aggressive fusion style in a compelling reimagination of this classic rock ballad. The song is available for free download here and will be featured on Viza's upcoming tour with Serj Tankian.

Aside from a passion for music, touring and song writing, Viza’s extensive performances around the globe also serve as their voice for promoting social consciousness of human rights and community issues – as well as providing opportunities to fundraise for various charities, homeless shelters and orphanages. oud and percussion blended with more traditional rock elements such as guitar, bass and drums. Orkestar Meze - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Orkestar Meze
Led by Bulgarian-born performer-composer Milen Kirov, Orkestar MÉZÉ has established itself as Los Angeles' No.1 original Balkan brass band in a short period of time. Since September of 2010 this 11-piece ensemble has gathered a large following through their raucous, joyous live shows where fans from all ages and walks of life dance to the band's trademark "peasant funk." Orkestar MÉZÉ has carved its own path with their original high-energy electric brass sound mixing American funk, soul and jazz with traditional Bulgarian and Balkan music. The members of the band hail from Bulgaria, Italy, Turkey, New Zealand, Canada, and the US and that diversity is evident in their unique style which they branded Peasant Funk and which is sure to make you dance uncontrollably. Orkestar MÉZÉ is gearing up to record their debut album, which is eagerly expected to be released this summer.
Super Black Market - (Set time: 9:45 PM)
Super Black Market
Spanning from over four countries and three different continents, Super Black Market was sold to Lou Pearlman (Manager: Backstreet Boys, N*SYNC, 98 Degrees) in 1998 in preparation for the downfall and decline in popularity of the boy band phenomenon.

Kept in cages and forced to practice for nearly 14 hours a day, they become mutinous toward their hefty overlord. Pearlman, in panic and haste, released them into the wild, where Benn a.k.a. Master Shredder, returned to his native Kazcikstan to return to his roots as a Manual Masterbation expert for various forms of livestock.

Sonny a.k.a. SDS 3000, a.k.a. Donkey Osmond, returned to Canada as a proud member of the Canadian Mounted Police. This ended when a distrought SDS nearly beat a disheveled Bryan Adams to death after a loss to him at a friendly arm wrestling contest.

Joseph a.k.a. Garza de la Garza returned to Peru, killed Presidente Juan Pomoza and assumed power. His reign lasted a mere 3 days, which set the record for longest term in office for any Peruvian leader. He returned to the states in 2000 and ran for Presidential office under the name "Al Gore."

Lou Pearlman, current producer of the hit cable television show "Bands Reunited" airing on VH1, scoured the earth to reunite the band he originally named "Snuggle4me." For one final performance, the members of the group performed a human sacrifice, killing Pearlman on an episode that would never air. With renewed rejuvination, the band decided to stay together under the name Super Black Market. And that's the story thus far....

"Super Black Market's energetic live show takes this combination of good songwriting and punk attitude a step further, giving the audience that exclusive "insider" feeling. Seeing them live feels like it must have felt like to be one of the select few who got to catch Black Flag play in a basement." -Kris Kegley/NADA MUCHO

"SBM doesn't set the bar -- it picks the bar up and smashes you in the forehead with it." -Jason Harper/THE PITCH

"All genres are stylistically reductive, and even dead horses can sound good when properly beaten. WILL SELL ANYTHING traffics in familiar punk signifiers--aggressive guitars, quick rhythms, thudding percussion, socially critical lyrics--but makes them sound interesting." -THE ONION

"Irate, emotional and intelligent lyrics over maelstroms of dense, buzzing guitars." -Mark Suppanz/THE BIG TAKEOVER

"The boys in Super Black Market borrow from our old-school friends on Dischord to create a not for profit ambitioned form of punk rock that, as far as I can tell, doesn't really exist anymore, save some stuff on the Hellcat label or maybe Side One Dummy. Same kind of energy a band like The Explosion displayed before they tried becoming Blink-183." -SB, DEATH + TAXES

"Punk rock is running dangerously low on bands like this. Balls to the wall energy but with a message you can get behind." -AMPCAMP.com
"...a sense of humor and satire which provide relief from the maelstrom of guitars, shrieks and hair-of-the-dog sneer that makes this record such a fun, wild ride." -Timothy Finn/THE KANSAS CITY STAR

"[Will Sell Anything] is a mercilessly catchy, complex and innately modern sounding punk record." Keith Rosson, RAZORCAKE

"SBM manages to make listeners stop and take notes with their charged lyrics and sound. [Will Sell Anything] will make you become aware and think of your ambiance." Amalia Renteria, PUNK UNITED

"SBM has got the energy, maturity, the songwriting chops and the flat-out sparks to engage the masses. Like to hear vocalists scream when it counts but sick of bullshit screamo bands that all sound alike? Like it when indie bands wail about sticking it to The Man, but sick of empty threats that ring hollow? Like the most furious moments of The Clash as well as the melodic edge of bands like Hot Water Music? Catch this set." Jim Reed, CONNECT SAVANNAH
Soap - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Soap
SOAP is an LA based progressive rock band whose style consists of various musical spices, integrating hints of Latin, R&B, and Alternative feels. It is the groups carefree attitude exerted by both the members and the style of music that allows dual melodic guitars to accompany a tight and captivative rhythm section in this versatile approach to melt a number of genres into one pot. Stay tuned for updates as the group is definitely something to look forward to in the coming months.
Tangent Transmission - (Set time: 8:15 PM)
Tangent Transmission
Tangent Transmission is the conglomerate formation of musicians Conor Cruz, Dugan Cruz, Kirby Shaw, and Sam Sobo. After forming in the summer of 2009, Tangent Transmission has stopped at nothing to saturate Southern California with their exciting and eclectic sound. The foursome has played in well-known Los Angeles venues such as The Whisky a Go Go, House of Blues, and The Roxy. In the studio, the boys crafted "Pull" their first full length EP, produced by Grammy-winner Matt Hyde (No Doubt, Jonny Lang), Receiving high acclaim for their performances and recordings alike, Tangent Transmission was honored with the Artist of the Year award in the All Indie Magazine music awards. All Indie's radio host Mikeyy Jayy described Tangent Transmission as giving "a whole new definition to the meaning of rock music. Perhaps it should be called tangent rock, because they do not intersect with any other sound except with their own." Inflating in popularity, TT has had song placements in the documentary h2indo as well as one episode of NCIS: Los Angeles.

The tangent rock sounds a little bit like a lot of things. Drawing from groups like The Mars Volta, Muse, Rage Against the Machine, and Incubus, their heavy guitar riffs, tight and blasting rhythms, soaring vocal lines, and shambolic emotions bring an electrifying performance to stages and speakers everywhere. Operating at full capacity to deliver any audience to a new tangent of what they believed rock music to be, Tangent Transmission is constantly working to further their musical horizons.

Dugan Cruz
Although always having a strong affinity for the Arts and Music, it wasn't until 17 that Dugan began seriously playing guitar and focusing on music. As a child, he listened to his father play Gipsy Kings and Rhumba guitar, while his mother introduced him to female folk artists such as Natalie Merchant, Joni Mitchell, and Sarah Mclachlan. After an unknown spark of inspiration to explore music, Dugan threw a band together to write and perform a song at his High School's talent show. Performing in front of that many people for the first time was intoxicating, and from then on he had the bug. After graduating he began playing keyboard, and spent time crafting his voice through jazz and classical choirs. Having played in a couple bands, and spending time learning to write his own material, Dugan found Sam Sobo. The rest is Tangent Transmission.

Sam Sobo
Sam began his musical journey at the age of 13 with Gary Ponder, where he picked up his first pair of drumsticks. Due to his living situation he wasn't able to get a real acoustic drum set for some time. He started out just playing on practice pads, pillows, and on office chairs. After several months he bought an electric drum set. At the age of 16 Sam was able to play on his first acoustic drum set. He had a frustrating time in high school searching for musicians and bands to play with but never had much luck. A lot of time was spent strapping on some headphones and playing along to songs. With the exception of some close family and friends Sam never had the opportunity to play in front of people until he was 19, going on 20. With a little luck and the help of the Internet Sam was able to connect with Dugan to form what is now Tangent Transmission. Aside from the band, Sam is currently finishing up his stay at Cal State University Northridge where he is earning his degree in Music Industry Studies with an emphasis in percussion.

Kirby Shaw
Kirby Shaw has been getting his hands dirty on the guitar for 7 years; and with influences including Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Jimi Hendrix, along with many others, his style is unique in its own. His mentor (Bernie Bauer) started teaching him bass at the age of 12 however… Later that year Kirby was exposed to the blaring sounds of Hendrix's Guitar…and realized it was time to make the switch. He has been honored to have had the opportunity to play alongside some of the industry's prized artists such as Teddy Zig Zag and Slash of Guns N' Roses at one of L.A's former Blues clubs. Although having proper training in the music field, Kirby plans on enrolling into Hollywood's Musician Institute to earn both his Music in Business and Music Performance Degree in the Spring of 2012.
