Blue Blazer - (Set time: 10:30 PM)
Blue Blazer
The Los Angeles based band, Blue Blazer was formed shortly after lead singer, and principle songwriter Jonny Schoen Jr. moved to Venice Beach, CA in the summer of 2011. Prior to Schoen's move, he studied Modern Poetry at Georgetown University where he was also a member of the varsity football and lacrosse teams.
Blue Blazer's sound is influenced by an array of 90's indie music combined with today's more contemporary alternative rock. Schoen's songwriting style is best described as clever, catchy and romantically honest.
Blue Blazer has generated significant local and national buzz with the release of their debut EP "Follow the Sun" accompanied by their high-energy and passionate live shows. Blue Blazer continues to sell out local venues in Los Angeles and on the road including a sold out New York City show in the summer of 2014.
Bruce Beacom - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Bruce Beacom
Bruce Beacom is an American singer/songwriter and record producer who was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1970 and grew up in the suburbs of Washington, DC. He had an affinity for music at an early age and sang and played in bands throughout high school. He moved to Los Angeles, CA, in 1990 for college where he received his Bachelors Degree as a painter from California Institute of The Arts in 1994. After graduating from CALARTS Bruce returned to the east coast in 1995 to live in New York City, where he stayed thru 2000. During his 5+ years in NYC, Bruce avidly pursued his music career by playing the club circuit as a solo artist in the Village and the Lower East Side. Bruce produced his first record titled "Bebo live in NYC" in 1999-2000. It was a solo acoustic live album recorded over the course of 5 different performances in 1999 at clubs such as The Mercury Lounge, The Living Room, CBGB's Gallery 313, The Fort at The Sidewalk and Baby Jupiter. Bruce moved to Los Angeles in 2000 and continued performing on the club circuit across Southern California. He began working on his 2nd record in late 2002; however, in 2003, he started to lose his hearing rapidly due to a genetic hearing disease called "otosclerosis". Eventually the disease made Bruce lose 98% of his hearing and he never new if he would hear or play music ever again. Over the course of the next four years (2004-2008), Bruce underwent 4 separate ear surgeries at The House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, which managed to restore 60% of Bruce’s hearing. Bruce now has prosthetic (titanium) bones in both of his ears and wears hearing aids but is beyond thankful he can still hear. He finally finished his 2nd record, "Platinum Pennies" in 2009. “Platinum Pennies” is his first studio effort and is a true testament to Bruce's long and arduous fight for his hearing. Bruce's musical style is a culmination of the influences he was exposed to growing up in the Washington DC area, which all still influence his music today. One can hear rock, blues, punk, funk and jazz either juxtaposed at one minute or seamlessly wrapped around one another the next. Bruce's delivery is a humble yet passionate style. His vibe is upbeat and keeps any listener on their toes via smooth stylistic shifts, dynamic song writing and introspective lyrics. On "Platinum Pennies", Bruce weaves grooves, harmonies and melodies into songs that get inside your head and stay there. Download the record now and enjoy a fresh, original sound which Bruce notably refers to as "Acoustic Funk". Bruce is currently working on his 3rd (highly anticipated) record with Bass player Kevin Boyd, Drummer Pete Relyea and Engineer/Co-Producer Robert Hoehn at "East Venice Studios" in Venice Beach, California. They also play live concerts regularly in Los Angeles and across Southern California.
