Unique in its musical arsenal is the inclusion of oud and percussion blended with more traditional rock elements such as guitar, bass and drums. This fascinating fusion, combined with dramatic and powerful live performances have garnered Viza significant success all over the world.

Recorded by Jared Gosselin (D12, Macy Gray) at Frank Zappa’s UMRK Studios, Viza’s fifth album, “Carnivalia” is the band’s most animated work – a journey through a symbolic theme park derived from satirical and dramatic influences. Inspired from Gogol Bordello’s multicultural rhapsodies and System of a Down’s notorious screams and riffs, Carnivalia embodies Viza’s groundbreaking songwriting and experimentation which has amazed audiences with a mesmerizing blend of instruments, various styles and continued evolution of Viza’s sound.

In September 2012, Viza will embark on its second tour with System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian for his “Harakiri” World Tour, a nearly 6 week endeavor featuring 19 performances all around the world. In 2010, Viza also supported Tankian’s "Imperfect Harmonies" Tour in Europe in the cities of Hamburg, Cologne, Paris, Zurich, Bologna, Athens and Yerevan. “Loving the new record; Carnivalia’s awesome. I love hearing the new influences and the fun loving spirit and musical wizardry. Overall a really great effort,” said Tankian. “Viza is one of the most unique and interesting bands I have ever encountered. Their live shows are energetic and fun,” he added. Tankian has worked extensively with the group, serving as Executive Producer of Viza’s previous album entitled “Made In Chernobyl”, and also sang as a guest vocalist on the album’s “Viktor” track.

Formerly known as Visa, the band released two EPs and two full length albums, along with a award winning music video. The band's De Facto, Eros and Made In Chernobyl albums incorporated music pervaded with sonorities from various influences and musical styles and blended elements of aggressive rock, dance and satirical social commentary.

Among the band’s extensive touring schedule, Viza has performed at one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious music events at Hungary’s Sziget Festival’s mainstage (alongside Korn, The Killers, Axwell, The Vaccines, The XX among several others) as part of a month long European tour in August 2012. Viza has also performed at Sweden’s Malmofestivalen, Norway's Kartfestivalen, Slovenia's Schengenfest and Trnfest and Greece’s Rockwave Festival (alongside The Prodigy, Gogol Bordello, Flogging Molly, Marky Ramone’s Blitzkreig), and has toured Europe 6 times in the past 2 years alone.

Demonstrating a knack for reinventing old rock classics, Viza recently covered the Doors tune "Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)" by adding its own strong seasonings and aggressive fusion style in a compelling reimagination of this classic rock ballad. The song is available for free download here and will be featured on Viza's upcoming tour with Serj Tankian.

Aside from a passion for music, touring and song writing, Viza’s extensive performances around the globe also serve as their voice for promoting social consciousness of human rights and community issues – as well as providing opportunities to fundraise for various charities, homeless shelters and orphanages. oud and percussion blended with more traditional rock elements such as guitar, bass and drums. Fresh off the return of this successful tour, Viza is preparing for a very exciting 2012 filled with more shows in Europe and North America.

Among the band’s extensive touring schedule, Viza has performed at Sweden’s Malmofestivalen and Greece’s Rockwave Festival (alongside Prodigy, Gogol Bordello, The Ramones), and has already been invited to perform at Norway’s Kartfestivalen and Hungary’s Sziget festival this upcoming summer, one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious music events, as part of a 3 week long

The Burning of Rome - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
The Burning of Rome
"The perfect mix of goth and dance influences to accompany an Edwardian Ball, with enough organs and dark vocals to satisfy Castlevania fans."
- San Diego City Beat Magazine

"Their musical horizons stretch far beyond the threshold of modern rock. The Burning of Rome is a post-apocolypitic mash-up of meticulous orchestration, electronic manipulation and eccentric experimentation. If Danzig constructed a carnival ride, it'd look something like this."
- 944 Magazine

"Gypsy punk, rife with keys, rasping vocals and animated onstage antics."
- Paste Magazine

"What gothic music has come to in the new millennium. Recommend it for indie fans in general, especially those who appreciate keyboards and melody."
- Skratch Magazine

"A thrillingly eerie avant-garde seven-piece out of San Diego"
- Performer Magazine

"Music for the circus of the underworld - done in all the right ways."
- San Diego City Beat Magazine

"All sorts of arty noises that somehow turn into amazingly melodic music - imagine every genre of music smooshed together and sprinkled with a sense of humor."
- San Diego Union Tribune

"The kind of songs that Danny Elfman would assemble as a soundtrack for the Technicolor birth of the spawn of Satan"
- San Diego City Beat Magazine

"The Burning of Rome's style can not be forced into any known genre without taking shortcuts and over looking its originality. Its dark tones and circus like melodies intermingle into one spontaneous, yet entertaining work of musicianship."

Tiffany Madadian - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Tiffany Madadian
Tiffany Madadian was born into a musical family in Los Angeles, California. Her love for music began as a child at home when she started singing along to Brit Rock and falling in love with her dads record collection. Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Supertramp became her soul mates before Madonna, Gwen Stefani and Debbie Harry taught her about sex and love.

School plays and graduation songs lead to the brilliant Marty Callner who discovered her while at his own daughters graduation. An introduction to Roger Love lead to the rollercoaster that would be the upcoming years.

At 17 she was introduced to the brilliant Paul Graham and Paul Bushnell (Faith Hill). They were the two people who taught her early on how to write songs after they realized that she had a mouthful to say.

Incredible opportunities came Tiffany's way and she was able to work with legends like Bon Jovi and David Paich (Toto) with whom she co wrote and sang with.

After graduating high school she was eager to start gigging. It took a few stints in the Hollywood club scene before Tiffany was offered the opening slots for 80's popstar Tiffany, not to mention the gods of glam, Sweet. She was becoming known as the young girl who was playing clubs up and down the Sunset Strip before she could legally have a drink in them.

In 2011 she began work on her first EP. Writing and producing it with her guitarist Claudio Tristano, "I Love Me, Too" was released in 2012. It was an obnoxious piece of work that captured that time in her life, touching on topics of restlessness, fear, desire and ambition. Since then she has been playing in her hometown while continuing to write and record.

We can expect new music from Tiffany this Fall.

"With infectious melodies, throw back 70′s guitar riffs and her incredible talent of being able to carry her audience through sweet storytelling, girl banter and also down an emotional, sometimes angry ally of arena rock anthems, she is surely an impressive force to be reckoned with on stage."

The Nukes - (Set time: 8:45 PM)
The Nukes
all other teen rock bands are their affinity for musicianship - having studied their instruments since before becoming teenagers - and indifference about that commercial-friendly sound in favor of challenging the industry to try something new.

So far, this mindset has worked. The Nukes are the subject of a documentary that started filming in the summer of 2009. This documentary, which covers their auditions, recording sessions, and live performance, is currently being edited and due for completion in February 2010.

The Nukes played their first show earlier this January at the Troubadour to 200 paying guests. Not only were they integral to the night selling out, but they were asked back MARCH 6TH.
This is all very impressive considering that the current line-up has only been practicing together for 3 months. The guitar player and bass player have been with the project since its inception in the summer 2009.
Jessarae - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Jessarae
In his writing, playing, and performing, 18-year-old Jessarae (Jez-uh-ray) reveals a true, old soul in a young man’s body. Jessarae takes his place as an unrelenting talent whose guitar playing and songwriting can be felt in your gut and in your soul. His music offers a raw, melodic, sometimes acoustic, garage rock that recalls seminal influences from Damien Rice to My Bloody Valentine. Juxtaposed with a uniquely broad and meticulously controlled vocal range and confidence, Jessarae's developed sound is a reflection of his near decade of experience in creating and performing. He has shared the same stage with such acts as Stevie Wonder, Seal, Plain White T’s, Five for Fighting, John Legend and the Roots, Gavin Rossdale, and Matisyahu, as well as performing dates the last two years on the Warped Tour. Look out for a new EP later this year.
