Scarlet Grey - (Set time: 9:45 PM)
Scarlet Grey
Scarlet Grey is pop with dirt under its nails. Assembled from Los Angeles, Long Island, Sacramento, Saint-Jean-De-Luz, and Frankfurt, this pop rock quintet consists of Benjamin Grey (lead vocals/guitar), Pete Emperador (bass/vocals), Keith Cooper (drums/vocals), Richard Shackelford (lead/guitar) and Alix Peters (keyboards/guitar/vocals). 2010 saw the release of their album, “Fancy Blood,” which features vocals from Davey Havok and additional production from Jade Puget of AFI. The record boasts the same signature classic song writing, larger than life melodies and pop resonance that have made Scarlet Grey a Southern California powerhouse and global online presence.

In 2011, Scarlet Grey’s song “The Sky & I” has spent 5 weeks at the # 1 spot on KROQ ‘s Locals Only. SG was also named one of Purevolume’s top 10 unsigned bands of 2010 and Ben Grey’s vocals have been featured on AFI’s “Crash Love,” Blaqk Audio’s upcoming release “Bright Black Heaven” and the soon to be released solo record from Tiger Army’s Nick 13.

Recent features in Alternative Press, Music Connection and Substream magazine, sold-out headlining shows in Los Angeles, appearances with Weezer, Cold War Kids, The Raveonettes, Rogue Wave, Yellowcard, Cartel, Young the Giant, Rooney, Nico Vega and two back to back US tours with AFI, showcase why Scarlet Grey has earned the passion and commitment of legions of fans.

Scarlet Grey is currently working on their follow-up to “Fancy Blood” and have just completed production on their new single, “Gone Away Girl” with producer Dave Trumfio (OK GO, Built to Spill, Islands, Wilco, My Morning Jacket) which will be released in the fall of 2011.
Dead Country - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Dead Country
There is a fertile range of musical moments that lays the foundation for the powerful, driving rock made by this band of four called Dead Country. Nick Long, singer, guitarist and California native, felt the tug toward music at an early age and gravitating toward the music of Jawbreaker, Fugazi, Nirvana and Rites of Spring, the sound that forms Dead Country’s original, hard-hitting rock holds traces of those influences, but only as a jumping off point.

Dead Country came together in late 2008 after Nick returned from Switzerland where he’d been living. “I didn’t think twice about coming back to Los Angeles to start a band. It made complete sense to me,” he says about the pulling together of guitarist Jonny Black, whom he’s known since art class at Santa Barbara High School, and bassist Patrick Solem. Right before leaving to play some shows in 2009 with Sunny Day Real Estate, they brought drummer Jarrod Alexander on board.

Now, with the imminent release of the band’s debut EP, recorded at Studio 606 in Los Angeles, which is the Foo Fighters studio, Dead Country can rest assured that the energy pumping from every song will without a doubt move listeners to dive straight into this pool of sound with nary a backward glance. The four tracks: “Euro Thrash,” “The Shade,” “Satori In Luzern,” and “Sea Change,” each, in their own arresting way, move immediately into overdrive, harnessing adrenaline along the way and flying straight into the stratosphere. It’s a great ride, but mind the lyrics as well because along the way a peek into some hearts and minds is guaranteed.

With this kind of forward movement ongoing, the question posed in “Satori in Luzern,” might continue to hang in the air: “What does the word home mean these days, anyway?”
The Dear & Departed - (Set time: 8:15 PM)
The Dear & Departed
The Dear & Departed is a rock band from Orange County and Los Angeles, California, founded by Dan Smith. Founded in 2006, the band went on the Vans Warped Tour and released their debut album the same year. In 2007 the band again played on the tour, and some other tours followed. After releasing an EP in January 2010, the band went into the studio in late 2010 to work on their next full length album.
