Magnolia Memoir - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Magnolia Memoir
“…Unexpected shades of Radiohead, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen. Blissfully Dark.
Harmonically & Lyrically Inventive and Honest”
– Devon Wendell, International Review of Music (IROM)

Bold, bracing and cinematic, Magnolia Memoir is led by the stunningly raw & angelic voice of Mela Lee, with vintage keys, b3 and vibes from Alexander Burke, all laid atop Aron Forbes’ hypnotic, driving guitar.

“Odds & Ends” (Vevo Exclusive Premiere) signals the first foray into the mainstream by underground LA band, Magnolia Memoir. From their forthcoming album, Pale Fire (Sept 2014), “Odds & Ends” is a slice of indie pop perfection. With shades of Regina Spektor and The Beatles and a pinch of Panic! at the Disco’s “9 in the Afternoon,” the premiere single is the brightest of the album, whose tracks range from the haunting and stark “Silence & the Ache” to the Mississippi swagger of “Ash & Bone” and the playful gypsy punk of the title track, “Pale Fire.”

With fans including Will Forte (SNL, Nebraska), Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond), Ione Skye (Say Anything), comedy legend Fred Willard, , and Jorge Garcia (Lost) all appearing in the Official Video for the single, expect 2014 to be a breakout year for Magnolia Memoir whose reputation has been in steep ascent.

“…By Far – one of the best acts I’ve heard - EVER”– Larry LeBlanc, The Hot Seat

“…Magnolia Memoir is stunning and altogether unforgettable”
– Margaret Cho, Actress/Comedienne
The Quiet - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
The Quiet
"With all of the tween pop and slow-as-molasses indie music clogging the music industry, it's a breath of fresh air to hear a rock band unafraid to see if there's a little mileage left in a good guitar riff and straight-forward songwriting." - Christopher Robinson, Daily Bruin
The Quiet is a dynamic, original five-piece piano-pop band that draws comparisons to Ben Folds, Barenaked Ladies, and Elton John. With a solid, growing fan base responding to their diverse sound and high-energy live show, The Quiet is excited about their return to the Troubadour. With songs from both their debut album, “Greatest Hits” and their recent release, “Let it Fall” the band will open the night with a fast paced set of songs that will erase any memory of the week’s trials and remind you that it’s good to be alive. Led by the raw, electrifying vocals of lead singer, Brendon Ryan along with band members, Matt Ferrone (Guitars),Dave Kaptain (Bass Guitar),Dana Deignan (Drums, Percussion) –the Quiet is sure to be anything but.
