Solspeak - (Set time: 9:15 PM)
Award-winning band Solspeak is a unique eclectic blend of pop, rock, soul and flamenco, which was conceived in Pasadena, California by formally trained at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Julian SaintJon (lead guitar/composer) and accomplished artist Vincent Madrid (lead vocalist/lyricist).
The band, which in 2013 won the Producer’s Choice Award for Breakthrough Artist at the 23rd Annual Los Angeles Music Awards, is also made up of rhythm guitar/vocalist Drew Respicio, percussionist “Q” Quintana, drummer/percussionist Matt Herrera and bass guitar Olivier Prud’Homme, all of whom are well seasoned musicians from all over Los Angeles and Holland.
Co-Founder Julian SaintJon, who was also nominated for Guitarist of the Year, was influenced by the stylings of ‘Rush’ and ‘Led Zeppelin’. He then discovered the amazing guitar sounds and Gitana rhythms from Spain and, in time, has been able to forge a new hybrid that, to date, has defied classification. So much so that Solspeak’s song ‘Million Miles Away’ was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ and along with, ‘Beautiful and Bittersweet’ recently had Solspeak receive a staggering 94% vote to ‘stay’ on the ‘Heidi and Frank Show’ on KLOS 95.5.
Solspeak’s music is often described as ‘cinematic’. They strive in bringing people together in a shared experience of excitement, with soulful vibes that speak to the heart and carry the listener a million miles away in order to see that life can be both beautiful and bittersweet. The band is always evolving, refining and perfecting their fascinating new sound with song lyrics and vocal melodies to bring positive, uplifting music to new international markets.
With over 200 stage performances on the famed ‘Sunset Strip’ to county fairs and festivals, fundraisers and benefits from LA to Sweden, Solspeak pride themselves on using their music to bring joy to their audience and raise the awareness that we are all connected, to each other and to the planet.
The band is very involved with several charities. They pride themselves on using their music to raise money, education and awareness for the American Cancer Society and various Fire Department community events.

The Orphics at the Whisky

Something kind of wicked this way comes. The Orphics are stranger and more exotic than most of the careerist bands clotting up the Sunset Strip these days, with songs that are more like epic journeys than bland, well-behaved pop tunes that can be neatly contained in a jukebox. Singer/accordionist Matt Roth aspires to the vaguely mystical, rambling classic rock of bands like the Doors, Led Zeppelin and Jane's Addiction, and he layers the tracks on the Orphics' recent CD, Purity, with violins, sitars, cellos, "psychedelic echoes, magic . . . and Middle Eastern scales." The album's centerpiece is "The Queen of the 7 Seas," a febrile waltz where Roth croons with the world-weary voice of a lost sailor, sounding a lot like Cat Stevens or Richard Butler as he walks the plank, spellbound by an ocean muse. He finds himself spinning around on "The Carousel" at a macabre circus and is bound up in a swirling vortex of wah-wah guitar, sitars and his own seasick accordion on the somewhat pretentious "Horse Latitudes"–style intro to "Deliverance." Although Roth's grandiose ambitions fall flat on generic songs like "Pleasure Fucked Pain," there are still enough hints of darkness and mystery here to make the Orphics' "Midnight Freak Show" (which will include Porno for Pyros journeyman Peter DiStefano) one of the evening's more weirdly unsettling Halloween events. Kolm - (Set time: 11:15 PM)
VMichaels - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
V Michaels performs for the audience. Our music would not be what it has become without our fans. Why play music if we cannot share it with all our friends.

What do you want to read here? Our up-bringing, what kind of music we like, what our songs sound like, or even when we think we will get our first kiss.
Well none of that is here! Our music speaks for itself.
Drove across the country from Cleveland OHIO to Los Angeles California.
Why did we do that?...
So that we can say we followed our dreams, caught up with them and made them a reality.
