Dani Ivory - (Set time: 10:45 PM)
Dani Ivory
Hailing from the black and golden city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, DANi grew up in a music-clad household, listening to the vibratos of Maria Callas while she was still in her mother’s womb and mesmerized by the classical piano styling of Vladmir Horowitz and Arthur Rubinstein as a toddler. Her musical world was shaped early on by her mother, who was a professional organist, choral director, and liturgical musician. Although DANi’s musical ear and first piano lesson came from her mother, she also adapted an artistic trait from her engineer almost turned architect father, and that was the artistic, poetic, and colorful nature of words. Hard-work, versatility, discipline, and the courage to follow dreams were all-important themes in the household, so it wasn’t a surprise when DANi decided to ditch her MCAT, exchanging a career in the medical field for that of a musician. Though a bit abrupt, was it really that much of a surprise?
DANi went on to receive scholarships at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music for studies in Vocal Performance under the direction of Claudia Pinza (Ezio Pinza’s daughter) and for entering talent at Boston’s Berklee College of Music for studies in Vocal Performance, Contemporary Writing, and Production. During her time in Boston, DANi developed a strong ear for jazz and blues, which incorporated the classical technique she was raised on while expanding her ears and fingers into improvisational technique. She performed several nights a week regularly as both a keyboardist and singer to help supplement her income while studying and taking classes during the day.
By mid-May 2008, DANi found herself wondering the streets of Venice Beach, California with a brand new album solely constructed on her own in her hands. Momento wasn’t officially released until August 2009 after it was produced, mixed, and mastered properly, yet Ms. iVORY knew she still had a different sound brewing inside her muse. She joined the indie-folk-rock band, Silent Star, with former members of Critter Jones, Corey Miller and Mickey Madden. Silent Star made excellent traction in a short amount of time, but it’s light petered out before it really had a chance to shine. At this point, DANi decided to go on her first audition through Los Angeles’ biggest live music talent agent, and it turned out to be her only audition since she got the part.
The years of 2010 and 2011 were filled with festival crowds of 70,000 strong, millions of television and YouTube viewers, and long transcontinental airplane rides. As keyboardist and backing vocalist for Cee Lo Green in his all-girl backing band, Scarlet Fever, what was only supposed to be a short promotional tour turned into over a year’s worth of concerts and expeditions. DANi has appeared on The Tonight Show with David Letterman, Saturday Night Live, The Today Show, Jools Holland (twice), Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen, Colbert Report, Good Morning America, and Lopez Tonight just to name a few. She has shared London’s Wembley Arena stage with The Foo Fighters, shared festivals bills and stages with Weezer, Sublime, Eminem, Stevie Wonder, Neyo, and Big Boi (from Outkast), and even opened for Prince at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Following Cee Lo, DANi landed gigs as keyboardist and background vocalist for Interscope’s, Imagine Dragons, and Disney sensation Bridgit Mendler, who she performed and toured with for several months throughout 2011 and 2012. In 2012, DANi also successfully completed The New Evolution World Tour with K-Pop Sensation, 2NE1. Beside fellow band members DiviRoxx (Beyonce’s former MD and bass player), Sharon Aguilar (Guitarist for Cee Lo Green), and Manuals (drummer for The Gorillaz), they performed 15 shows throughout the summer and fall in South Korea, North America, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. In December 2012, she played her first show as keyboardist for Beyoncé at the Wynn in Las Vegas on New Years Eve and continued to perform with Beyoncé in the Superbowl XLVII halftime show, which was televised to over 50 million viewers. DANi has successfully completed five legs of the Mrs. Carter World Tour in 2013 spanning 24 countries (throughout Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and New Zealand), 65 cities, and whopping 107 performances. She has appeared on television with Beyoncé for the Gucci sponsored Chime for Change event and has several cameos on Beyonce’s music video, “Blow”, from her recent record-breaking self-titled release, BEYONCE.
Although, DANi loves performing as keyboardist and background vocalist for other artists, her true passion lies in her own artistry. DANi was hard at work in 2013 writing songs in her hotel rooms and recording in the studio back in Los Angeles during her short breaks between legs of the Mrs. Carter World Tour. Winter 2014 will mark a new beginning for DANiiVORY, as she has finally completed the new and original music for her upcoming EP, and will begin performing as front woman, DANiiVORY. Please stay tuned for the official release date of her EP, the release party, and upcoming performances.

Candace Coles
When it comes to CANDACE COLES her formula is no secret. That special concoction of love, sincerity, and truth is the recipe that is Candace Coles-a soulful singer/ songwriter whose warmth resonates throughout an entire room. From the moment you shake her hand and share her smile, it’s obvious Candace’s heartfelt songwriting and passion for life will undeniably leave “her fingerprints all over the world”

And she is doing just that with her debut EP, Fingerprints, released last December. A former middle school teacher, Ms. Coles has witnessed first hand the need to continuously inspire and encourage young girls to live their best lives, and with the release of her hit single “I Own The Night”, she’s doing just that. This upbeat, “pro-girl” anthem was featured in the Pepsi “Black Girls Rock” commercial featuring famed DJ and Philanthropist Beverly Bond, which aired nationwide.

After Candace completed her college degree at Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music, she was forced to answer the same question many college grads are faced with, “So what’s next?” She found the answer in her music.

“Although the road has not always been an easy one, I’ve noticed that whenever I’ve followed my heart the results are remarkable.”

And remarkable it has been, this January you will find Candace on a spectacular episode of CBS’ newest series, The Crazy Ones, starring Robin Williams.

Over the past several years she’s spread her wings as a writer and performer, performing around the country with artists such as Common, Martin Luther and Maimouna Youssef. Most recently, Candace collaborated with Grammy-Award® Winning Singer/Songwriter Gordon Chambers.

This talented young Singer/ Songwriter’s star continues to rise, with critics comparing her work with Gordon as reminiscent of Tammy Terrell and Marvin Gaye. She co-wrote and is featured on the classic duet “Love You Better” found on Chamber’s new album “Sincere”, on sale now! Candace also recently co-wrote and performed background vocals on the debut independent EP, RAFFIA, on iTunes.

In her own work, Candace often explores themes of self-empowerment and challenges her listeners to find their own personal way to share their Fingerprints with the world.

From the bustling streets of Boston, to the sunny shores of Los Angeles, and all the way back to her hometown of Washington, DC; Candace’s life nowadays is simply about performing.
Stay tuned as this unique and soulful singer spreads her tales of love and life from coast to coast, offering the insightful songwriting and the infectious rhythms that have come to define her musical journey.
