Protest The Hero - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Protest The Hero
Protest the Hero is a Canadian Progressive Metal band from Whitby, Ontario. Originally named Happy Go Lucky, the band line-up has remained the same since their formation in 1999. The band changed their name to Protest The Hero shortly before releasing their debut EP, Search for the Truth, in 2002. In 2005, the band released their first full-length album, Kezia, on the indie label Underground Operations. On January 23, 2006, the band officially signed with Vagrant Records for Kezia's United States release. Kezia was released in the US on April 4, 2006. Their second full-length album, Fortress was officially released by Underground Operations in Canada and by Vagrant Records worldwide on January 29, 2008.. The band is currently in the studio recording their 3rd full-length release, due out early 2011.
Maylene & The Sons Of Disaster - (Set time: 8:30 PM)
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster is a southern rock/metal band. They formed in 2004 in Birmingham, Alabama and began touring the southern United States. In 2005, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster signed to Mono vs. Stereo and released their self-titled debut, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster’s II was released on Ferret Records nationwide on March 20, 2007.

Maylene’s third album, III, was released on June 23, 2009. The song Just A Shock was released to the band’s MySpace page on May 11th, 2009. III debuted at #71 on the Billboard 200.

Dallas Taylor is the most notable member of Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. He was the original vocalist for the metalcore/post-hardcore band Underoath until late 2003.

The band name and concept are based on the legend of the criminal gang of Ma Barker and her sons, noting that evil lifestyles will be met with “divine justice”.
TesseracT - (Set time: 7:35 PM)
TesseracT
UK-based metallers TesseracT will celebrate the dawn of a new decade with something truly special when they unleash their debut album ‘One’ in early 2011.

The record will mark the realisation of a bold, experimental creative vision that began in 2003 as a solo writing project in the mind of guitarist Acle Kahney and has subsequently spawned one of the most hotly tipped metal bands in the UK.

Since the formation of the band’s five-piece line-up in spring 2007, TesseracT have picked up richly deserved props from peers alike (Textures, Meshuggah) and press (Metal Hammer, Rock Sound, Scuzz). Following the release of their 2007 demo, TesseracT continue to cultivate a growing International fanbase, through well recieved UK and European tour dates and internet word of mouth. Their reputation of delivering jaw-dropping live performances has been further fuelled through appearances at Bloodstock, Hammerfest, Caos Emergente in portugal and the recent Hellfire 2 festival at the Birmingham NEC arena.

The climax of 2009 finds the band in exciting new territory, with the recent addition of singer Dan Tompkins. As evident in the sneak peek album track ‘Lament’ (featured on Metal Hammer’s November 2009 issue cover CD), Tompkins brings a huge vocal range and further melodic impetus to TesseracT’s ambitious, accomplished musicianship.

Tech-heads will often focus on the quintet’s time signatures and musical complexity, but TesseracT are far from an exclusionary exercise in tech metal pomposity. They fully embrace their experimental, prog sensibility without excessive indulgence or pretentiousness; delivering atmospheric, metallic songs that stir strong emotions and evoke powerful mental images. All of which, they argue, is at the core surprisingly simple.
