Trapt - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Trapt
Trapt is an alternative band from Los Gatos, California. The band formed in 1995, after meeting in high school, with members: Chris Taylor Brown (vocalist), Simon Ormandy (guitarist), Peter Charrell (bassist) and David Stege (drummer) and recorded the albums ‘Amalgamation’ and ‘Glimpse’ to sell at local shows. After several rehearsal absences and negative feedback the band decided to let David go. While attempting to find a suitable replacement, the band signed to Warner Bros. Records and began recording their debut self-titled album. The band enlisted Robin Diaz, to perform drums on the record, and in turn Robin, helped the band find their permanent drummer, Aaron Montgomery.

On November 22nd, 2002, the band released Trapt, along with the single “Headstrong”. “Headstrong” became a fantastic hit, reaching #1 on alternative charts and #16 on pop. Follow-up singles “Still Frame” and “Echo” (with a video featuring Michelle Trachtenberg) did respectably, although they never reached the heights of “Headstrong”. “Headstrong” became the official theme song of WWE Bad Blood for June 2003. Trapt eventually hit platinum. After more than one year an EP followed on March 30th, 2004, that included a new song called “Promise” along with live versions of “Made Of Glass” and “Echo”.

On September 13th, 2005, the band released their sophomore album “Someone In Control” along with the single “Stand Up”. “Stand Up” failed to do as well as any of their previous singles, although it still made an excellent run on active rock stations. “Waiting” and “Disconnected (Out Of Touch)”, were also released as singles, and have yet to repeat the success of any of Trapt’s self-titled radio hits. The band spent the first half of 2006 co-headlining with Shinedown as part of the Equinox Tour.

A live album was released in September, 2007, containing live tracks from both previous albums with new studio tracks “Stay Alive” and “Everything to Lose”.

Trapt hit the studio in July 2007 to begin recording their 3rd album, which was released on 5th August 2008 named “Only Through the Pain…”.

Trapt announced in late fall/early winter 2009 they were working on a new album for summer or fall release in 2010. On July 20, 2010, Trapt released their first single “Sound Off,” for the upcoming album “No Apologies,” due out in stores October 12, 2010. Updates, along with an EPK, for the upcoming album is available on their Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube (official trapt) accounts.
Dimtribe - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
Dimtribe
Formed in October of 2010, dimtribe is made up of Richard Nguyen, Robert Emmons and Chris Collier. Dimtribe is a Heavy Alternative rock band from Santa Clarita, CA. In the winter of 2009 Richard Nguyen set out to write a record that would serve as a pet project to be done at his own leisure. This project was dubbed “The Definition”. After finishing an album’s worth of material, he enlisted in studio players for the effort. When the first iteration of studio players chosen for the project didn’t pan out. Richard reached out to an old friend for help behind the drum kit; Chris Collier. After Chris came into the fold the band started to take shape. Chris reached out to Robert Emmons to come in and play bass. The first practice ignited a spark within each of them and dimtribe became a full-fledge performing band in the fall of 2010. The trio put together 6 songs in a week and recorded an EP 2 weeks later. Musically, dimtribe creates a wall of sound with moody guitars, huge grooves and propulsive rhythms, while emotional lyrics and melodies neatly layer on top of it all. The band’s influences range from Metallica, Pantera, Korn, Meshuggah, Deftones and Incubus to STP, As I lay dying and even Coldplay. After a year and a half, dimtribe has been steadily building momentum as one of the Santa Clarita’s most promising acts. Richard, Robert and Chris seem to feed off one another's energy on stage. The live aspect of dimtribe is where the magic happens. Their fierce energy and professionalism constantly win over crowd after crowd. When they want your attention they will get it. The group’s first full length record, “The Definition” is scheduled to be released in March of 2012.
Red Lettered - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Red Lettered
The Outsane is a talented and alluring, next generation rock band from San Clemente, Ca. Their edgy rock sound, driven by founder Madi Vogt on drums, is a tight mix of original material written by the band, with strongly punctuated riffs built around the fluid guitar style of Rafi Caro on lead guitar.
Logan McGarry, lead vocalist and guitarist, projects an intense vocal style that carries the angst and power of the song lyrics. Using mixed meter rhythms, driving guitar, along with Joe Allegretto's bass patterns that accentuate the power of their songs, their sound carries an urgency and passion that keeps the fans engaged through the band's musical journeys.
While both Logan and Rafi are virtuosic lead guitarists, when the songs break into guitar solos it is a climactic release of the fever pitch the piece has reached, not a showcase for one instrumentalist.
With some of Southern California's hottest music venues under their belt, such as The Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy, The Troubadour, and The Coach House, where they have headlined and opened for national acts such as Berlin and Missing Persons, The Outsane is ready to bring their sound to a broader audience.
With a highly developed musical footprint already, it is exciting to anticipate where this talented group of musicians will take their sound in the near future and beyond.
