Gold Chain Music - (Set time: 12:15 AM)
Gold Chain Music
The Gold Chain Military is a bi-coastal group of verbal assassins. The group consists of members: Planet Asia, Killa Kali, and Turbin (all hailing from Fresno, CA), Killer Ben and Sav Killz (hailing from Brooklyn, NY) Tristate and Montage One (natives of Los Angeles, CA). Each of the 7 members in The Gold Chain Military is a lyrical giant in their own right. All of them possess the skill and the will to survive as an individual, but they understand that the whole is greater than the sum of its’ parts. “I’ve always wanted to be part of a group where everyone was equally vicious with the mic. We all keep each other sharp,” says Planet Asia. Tristate adds, "The name says it all. Gold represents royalty and a Chain is the symbol of the ultimate completion/family. That's why I believe that our link can go down as one of hip-hop's most royal connections of all times."
The strength of this brotherhood is due to their collaborative work on each other’s solo efforts. There is a mutual respect between these emcees. “We have always sounded good together,” adds Killa Kali. “So when Planet Asia suggested that we all band together to bully these weak emcees, I was all in!” The chemistry of these 6 wordsmiths is displayed on their first mixtape offering “Post War” which is hosted by East Coast mixtape giant, DJ J-Ronin. Killer Ben adds, "I was honored to be included in a group with such gifted lyricists. After creating our first record as a total unit, “Chain of Command”, I knew Gold Chain would become a standard for quality hip-hop for years to come."
Collectively, the members of G.C.M. have worked on projects with such artist as: Wu-Tang, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Ne-yo, Boot Camp Click, X-Clan, Lincoln Park, KRS-One, Black Thought (The Roots), Goapele, Hit Squad, Bahamadia, Keith Murray, Strong Arm Steady, Self Scientific, Bad Azz, Liquid Crew, Prodidgy (Mobb Deep), Pete Rock and various others.
The year 2010 will see the release of their first full length LP “Chain of Command” on Gold Chain Music. The album features production by hip-hop mainstays Alchemist, Evidence, DJ Babu, legends such as Large Professor, as well as G.C.M. in-house producers Architech, Thayod Ausar, Jazimoto and Reno ‘The Masterkraftsmen’. You can expect high quality lyricism throughout the LP. One thing is evident when you listen to the Gold Chain Military, all of them can rap! As Planet Asia puts it, "The Sword will forever be sharp due to the Gold Chain."
