King Princess - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
King Princess
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, King Princess is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. The product of a musical family, she spent much of her childhood tinkering on the vintage Neve board in her father’s Brooklyn studio Mission Sound, learning instrumentation along the way. At 11 she turned down a record deal in favor of finishing school, which eventually led her to USC’s Thornton School of Music for college. She studied there for a year with legendary pianist and singer Patrice Rushen before leaving USC to pursue music full time.
Aaron Childs - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Aaron Childs
Determined, productive, and dedicated--that’s the kind of entertainer Childs is. Compositions he’s created, such as “Can’t Tell You Why,” “The Highs and Lows,” and “Drop Everything,” demonstrate his vision of combining jazz elements with blues and contemporary pop music. These traits also define him as a musician. Childs is passionate and open-minded. Not only does he aspire to be a highly respected guitarist but he also intends to become a prominent singer-songwriter whose unique sound is formed by mingling jazz, blues and contemporary pop music. Furthermore, the skills sets he has at his age show that he’s on track to achieve his vision. His performances exude a high degree of confidence and improvisational skill on the guitar. He plays with his whole body: Yeah... you know what that means: And instead of simply strumming the guitar, Childs gets into it inspiring the audience to feel his music and do the same. The breadth of Aaron's talents run the gamut from his performance skills to his vocal abilities to his knowledge of composing. But it doesn't stop there. His first instrument was the piano, and he’s composed much of his recent material on this secondary instrument of choice.. Aaron Childs will make his mark. Bring your ears to his world to hear what his music says to you. Be prepared for much more than a song and dance.
