Satellite Citi - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Satellite Citi
Satellite Citi are an alt-rock two piece band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Anna Gevorkian (vocals/drums) and Shaunt Sulahian (guitars/backing vocals) are successful in pushing forth elements of multiple genres to create a truly unique and dynamic realm of sound. Combining Gevorkian’s melodic vocals and funk rock drumming style with Sulahian’s dynamic guitars and background in heavy metal, Satellite Citi resurrect the rock genre with a fresh and modern delivery.

Formed in 2015, the name Satellite Citi derived from the notion of a city where people communicate thoughts through their satellite minds. After working on previous solo projects, the duo realized their future of collaborating together. They teamed up with famed rock producer, Brad Wood (Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins) in creating their upcoming debut EP, Negative Space. It is inspired by topics which motivate them lyrically, from societal issues and corruption of politics, to battling internal demons and struggling to find solace. Gevorkian reveals, “the underlying theme in our music would be overcoming negative energy, hence the EP title, Negative Space. We want our music to encourage people to stand up when they’ve fallen”. Despite Negative Space being a raw, rock and roll EP filled with relentless energy and growling guitars, it thematically features sensitive and introspective subject matters.

Negative Space is due for release worldwide early 2018.

Kid Giant - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
Kid Giant
British born, California-based modern rock duo Kid Giant specialise in soaring, radio-ready guitar rock that’s drawn comparisons to Coldplay, U2, and Oasis. Kid Giant are Johnny Ashby and Carl Thomson. Johnny and Carl, both originally from the UK, formed the band in Los Angeles earlier this year and already have an exciting and promising future ahead. They write epic songs with anthemic builds and speak about achieving the impossible, feeling like an outsider and coming together. The band have written and self produced their first release alongside support from Mikal Blue (One Republic, Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat). Kid Giant will be unleashing their second EP in April 2018, ahead of a full-length outing later in the year.
The Sound Of Ghosts - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
The Sound Of Ghosts
The Sound of Ghosts are an Americana roots musical collective hailing from Los Angeles, California. The five-piece collective of accomplished musicians have crafted a musical experience unlike any other with their unique arrangements and vast variety of influences. A culmination of traditional front porch Americana, folk-laden melodies and vintage rock’n’roll, The Sound of Ghosts have succeeded in bringing their own edge to this timeless genre of music.

The Sound of Ghosts is comprised of James Orbison (vocals, bass), Anna Orbison (vocals, ukulele, percussion), Ernesto Rivas (guitars), Phoebe Silva (fiddle, mandolin, ukulele) and Jon Sarna (drums, percussion). United they have pushed the boundaries of typical Americana and created an ever-evolving sound demonstrating the diversity of each of their own different musical backgrounds. Included in this are elements of classic rock, musical theatre, country and everything in between, Rivas explains “everyone's different perspective is an essential part to the diverse sound we create”.

The Sound of Ghosts formed in memory of the band’s friend Dave Lamb, who passed away too soon from Leukaemia. Lamb headed an acclaimed band ‘Brown Bird’ with his wife that was named NPR’s folk group of the year. James Orbison was touched and inspired by the impact Lamb had made on not only him, but the community around him. Orbison fell back into music as a mechanism to cope with his grief, where he consequently rediscovered his passion for writing and playing again. They decided to name their band ‘The Sound of Ghosts’ which was the title of Brown Bird’s album, as a way to honor Lamb and to be constant reminder of his love for music.

Their upcoming release entitled Delivery and Departure is filled with diverse soundscapes and a multitude of sonic textures. The new music is set to be an immersive listening experience. Anna Orbison explains, “I hope it inspires people to look at the world in a little different way. Notice the things around you… that’s what we write songs about”. The band’s signature sound of driving guitars, catchy hooks, fiddle fueled melodies, and soaring harmonies is assured to get listeners up and dancing.

The Sound of Ghosts successes to date include opening for artists such as Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Sisterhood, and Oingo Boingo. Their music has also been featured in national commercials for major brands such as Yahoo! and Kia. The Sound of Ghosts prides themselves on delivering an engaging, explosive yet intimate live performance, winning ‘best live performance’ at The Roswell Film Festival.
