Alpanian
Regarded as one of the best rock acts by Rock City News, Los Angeles based Hard Rock/Progressive Metal group Alpanian was formed in late 2006 by founder/ guitarist Edwin Alpanian (ex-Strange Tongues, Dust). Setting out to form a group comprised of virtuoso musicians, Edwin joined forces with bass player Johnny Pentland and drummer Ben Mechelin and later with vocalist Alan Aragon. Alpanian’s sound fuses hard- driving melodic guitar with powerful song structure, colorized by shredding guitar solos. With Edwin Al- panian as priciple songwriter of the group, the band’s range of sound has been compared to Alice In Chains, Dream Theater to Led Zepplin. Alpanian went into the studio in late 2007 to begin recording their debut album which was been released October of 2009 on indie label Del Valle Records. Since then, the band has performed numerous shows to packed venues. They have been the opening acts for international acts such as Slash, Gilby Clarke, Richie Kotzen, The Bullet Boys to name a few. In April of 2012, Alpanian co-headlined the first annual “One World Art and Music Festival”. Edwin is currently writing new material for an upcoming release slated for late 2012.
