Daron Malakian and Millennials - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
Daron Malakian and Millennials
Hey everyone-

I’ll be joining Millennials on vocals on Aug 18 at the Troubadour. They will be playing Millennials songs mixed with some of my songs that you're familiar with. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

-Daron

Millennials is a Los Angeles based Alternative music project. It combines a fusion of Punk, Reggae, Dance and Jazz influences to form a plethora of colors and sound. The wide range of groove held down by Mike Tree on drums combines a tight unity of elaborate styles along with bassist Heno Mox Akopyan. Combining that with acid jazz elements of sax man Matt Silberman and Mesrop Sarkisyan on keys compliment the songs thoroughly. Vocalist and guitarist, Orbel Babayan says " Most of us have known each other since we where kids, if not teens. It's a rare blessing to find people you go so far back with and make music as you could connect on what could feel like a telepathic level." Besides spending 8 years touring and recording with his other project Viza, Babayan has written, recorded and performed with artists such as DMC(Run DMC), Bobby Brown, and Miguel. Millennials will debut a full length album by the end of the year. Until then you can check out updates and new material at millennialsmusicla.com
State To State - (Set time: 9:30 PM)
State To State
Since releasing their first LP, No Bounds, in 2014, State to State have established themselves as flag bearers of atmospheric rock, while looking to create a new path for themselves in a landscape forged by bands like Muse, Radiohead and Interpol. In addition to playing residencies at The Hotel Cafe and The Viper Room, and outdoor events like Street Food Cinema & Showtime's Eat See Hear, they are busy enlisting new recruits at venues throughout the southwest and beyond. The dynamic landscape of ambient guitar textures, anthemic riffs, and haunting melodies from vocalist/guitarist Shea Stratton, and guitarist, Andrew Orvis, is well navigated by the authoritative rhythm section of drummer, Michael Schneider, and bassist, Patrick Morgan. Their latest EP, Motives, was produced and recorded by Grammy-nominated Producer/Engineer, Ian MacGregor (All-American Rejects, Katy Perry, Twenty One Pilots) at Greg Wells’ Rocket Carousel Studio in Culver City, CA. They played to a sold-out crowd at The Lost Room in Echo Park to celebrate the EP release.
Animal Super Species - (Set time: 8:45 PM)
Animal Super Species was formed in Santa Cruz by college roommates Danny Gunny and Reilly Mahon. Influenced by the likes of The Strokes and Thom Yorke, Gunny's DIY approach to songwriting and recording fused electronic dance beats with raw garage rock. The group was soon joined by rhythm section Chris Hansen and Nick Rives and quickly began playing shows in support of their self-produced EP Phobos. They then took to the studio to record and release their debut LP Yearbook, the polished production of which developed their sound into a new breed of anthemic dance rock. Since relocating to Los Angeles from the Bay Area in 2015 the band has added their fifth and final member, Alec Gunny, started work on a follow up to Yearbook, and begun rapidly spreading their infectious grooves throughout the LA music scene.
