Grieves & Budo - Til the Casket Drops Tour - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Grieves & Budo - Til the Casket Drops Tour
Having spent nearly two years on the road touring in support of 88 Keys and Counting, Grieves found himself returning home to a fractured reality. Reeling from turbulence in his career and heartbreak in his personal life mixed with coming down from the high of the support he received on the road Grieves conceptualized Together/Apart, an album that would address the bond music creates between each of us as individuals and as a whole despite the many distances we experience be they geographical or emotional.

The end of 2008 saw Grieves enlisting the help of friend and collaborator Budo to co-produce Together/Apart bringing his signature swiss-army knife, multi-instrumental backdrop to Grieves' hauntingly poignant narrative. The album began taking shape in New York as the two built off the success 88 Keys and Counting had generated and paired it with the intensity they developed from their live performances. The recording process began to shadow the theme of the album as it saw tracks recorded in Colorado and Washington in addition to New York, infusing it with a mixture of regional influences while still maintaining a cohesive sound. As the album neared completion the title took on a double meaning for Grieves as he explored new subject matter in the absence of trust, refuge in addiction, acceptance and honesty in self-reflection, and trying to find his place in the world without forgetting his roots.

Together/Apart concludes three years of self-discovery that has ultimately lead to Grieves' most emotionally charged and daring album to date.
SOL - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Some call it pop, some call it hip hop, but regardless of how you define it, “Seattle’s Prince” Sol’s understated lyrics and diverse beat selection have solidified him among the leaders of the northwest music scene. Following three chapters of his highly-acclaimed Dear Friends EP series, and appearances at both Seattle’s Capitol Hill Block Party and Bumbershoot, the release of his highly-anticipated independent album Yours Truly (1/20/12) quickly rose to #1 on iTunes US Hip-Hop Chart (#4 worldwide), as well as debuting on two Billboard charts (#73 R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, #24 Heatseekers Albums).

Described by The Stranger’s Charles Mudede as “rapping like a soul star”, Sol’s genre blending efforts have created fans of all types and ages, employing spirits of soul, R&B, hip hop and pop. With this all-encompassing sound, Sol’s music is perfect for any setting, from house party to road trip to smoking session.

Yours Truly embodies the three year journey following the 2009 debut album The Ride, having since shared the stage with such greats as Wu-Tang Clan,The Clipse, Macklemore, Mike Posner, Big Sean, Mac Miller, Blue Scholars, Zion-I and The Coup. 2010 saw Sol place 2nd in the Experience Music Project 2009 Sound Off!, a Northwest 21 & under battle of the bands, as well as performing at colleges around the Northwest, most notably Washington State University’s Cougfest and University of Washington’s Spring Concert. Along with his growing success in music, Sol is a humanitarian and proud Haitian, having organized and performed at a sold out "Haiti Relief Show" at Neumos in Seattle, raising more than $7,000 for his maternal homeland. Later this year, he plans to travel the globe, experiencing the sights and sounds of the world to further develop as both an artist and human being.

Sol’s records have seen airplay on Clear Channel’s KUBE 93.3, KEXP 90.3, and college radio, reaching the KEXP hip hop top 10. Two tracks, “So Damn High” and “Stage Dive” have reached #1 on the Hype Machine popular music chart, above the likes of Kanye West, DeadMau5, and Skrillex. At only 23 years of age, Sol’s career has only just begun, and Yours Truly is the next step in introducing Sol to his dear friends.
Intuition - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Raised in North Pole, Alaska, Lee Shaner a.k.a. Intuition, moved to Southern California during his college years to pursue his passion for emceeing. A true 80’s baby, Intuition was raised on rap music during it’s golden era and has a style that, while firmly rooted in tradition, still manages to be forward thinking and modern. With early influences ranging from bugged out hippy rap like “3 Feet High and Rising,” to G-funk classics like “Doggystyle,” to the gritty lo-fi hardcore ramblings of “Enter the 36 Chambers,” it’s safe to say the kid has a solid foundation.

About “Girls Like Me,” Intuition states “People that listen to my music will know more about me than they would ever know about me by my talking to them…there’s not a single lie on this album, and if someone doesn’t like this record, they would probably hate me as a person.” This sort of brazen honesty is something of a rarity these days in any musical genre, let alone hip hop, and that honesty alone makes him a musician worth perking your ears for.
