The Lyon Crowns - (Set time: 12:20 AM)

The Lyon Crowns is an alternative rock band from San Diego, California starring Jorge Luna (vocals), Alex Montes (bass), Alex Parra (guitar), Ricardo Luna (guitar), and Manuel Zumaya (drums). These five musicians began their journey years ago. Sharing a love for music since a young age, they each performed in a church band. Jorge Luna played drums in his church band and younger brother Ricardo Luna played guitar alongside him during youth group church service. Childhood friends Alex Montes, Alex Parra and Manuel Zumaya shared similar stories playing for their church bands too. The friend’s mutual interest and devotion to making music is what united them 10 years later to create the Lyon Crowns. Allison Andrews, director of San Diego fashion week, was looking for a new sound to perform at the event and turned to friend Jorge Luna to put a band together. Jorge was a solo percussionist artist at the time but was up to the task. The guys immediately worked well together, composing music and writing songs and debuted at the Beauty Bar before fashion week. Soon, the band that was once put together for an event was now booking more gigs and gaining the respect and admiration of fans and fellow musicians. Like every journey, however, the band went through some rough times having to switch the original drummer and guitarist. But their unbreakable spirit and drive pushed the band forward and for the past year the Lyon Crowns has booked and played shows in their hometown San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Sharing the belief that one should fulfill their dreams, the band hopes to energize their fans with the same passion and purpose. The guys recently recorded their first EP at Signature Sound with recording engineer Ruben Montoya and want to expand their horizons. Their philosophy is simple – “if you work hard at something, you can accomplish what you want in this life.” Bio by Andrea Mora

Harris Grade - (Set time: 9:50 PM)

Harris Grade is a Southern California rock band best known for energetic live shows and its members’ hard work ethic. The band’s first studio EP, “Hold on for Your Life,” is quickly gaining the attention of fans around the world and is currently distributed by Powerslave Records in Japan. In 2009 the band created a music video for the title track, Hold on for Your Life, which aired on MTV Japan and Space Shower TV.

In May, 2008 Harris Grade celebrated the release of the “Hold on for Your Life,” EP by performing to a full house at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. Since the debut, the band continues to draw crowds at popular Southern California venues such as the Troubadour, Knitting Factory and House of Blues.

Harris Grade formed in 2006 as a creative outlet for guitarists Caleb Healey and Alex von Hollen. The two spent time writing songs before collaborating with vocalist Robyn August who ultimately joined the band. A drummer and a bassist added to the lineup until the band roster changed in 2008, allowing bassist Jason Friday and drummer Greg Fulleman to join the burgeoning group.

The band recently completed their latest record, “Lipstick Politics,” with Tomas Costanza at Killingsworth Studios in Los Angeles. The self-released album will be available April 2010.
