Adam Green (born May 28, 1981 in Mount Kisco, New York) is an American singer-songwriter.
Green's off-kilter style has achieved a somewhat moderate college radio following in the United States and enjoys increasing popularity in a number of European countries, particularly Germany.
Green attended Emerson College for one semester in 1998 before leaving to concentrate on his music, going on to co-found The Moldy Peaches with Kimya Dawson.

In 2004 The Moldy Peaches went on hiatus and both Green and Dawson embarked on solo careers.

Green released several albums on Rough Trade Records. Among his better known songs are "Jessica" (about singer Jessica Simpson), "Novotel", "Friends of Mine", "Dance with Me", "Carolina" and "Emily", and, in Britain, his cover of The Libertines track "What a Waster".

Prior to Jacket Full of Danger in 2006, all of Green's albums had been released on the 22nd of the month. His latest album was released on March 18, 2008 and is titled Sixes & Sevens. Titles include "Morning After Midnight", "Twee Twee Dee", and "Drowning Head First", the latter a duet between Green and his girlfriend.[2]

In January 2008, The Moldy Peaches began having a resurgence in popularity, due to their music being included in the hit indie film Juno. Most notably, a duet between Adam Green and Kimya Dawson, The Moldy Peaches song "Anyone Else But You" was featured in the film, and also in a scene which features the film's lead actors, Michael Cera and Ellen Page performing the song together. The soundtrack album reached #1 on the Billboard album chart on its third week of release.

Matthew, Noah, Tad and Michael began work on what would become the Fort Music EP. They were longtime friends and had played around Boston in various configurations for years. Michael and Noah has recently played with local friends Drug Rug. When the boys gathered in Dec ’06 to record some new songs of Michael’s there were no grand plans to see through or deadlines to meet. They had an engineer friend and a couple hundred bucks and some notions about maybe making some back to basics rock and roll. Luckily for everyone, that approach seemed to work just fine, and after two weeks in an Allston, MA basement they had Fort Music all wrapped up and, more importantly, were most definitely a band. Fort Music EP was widely supported through the Coalition Of Independent Music Stores in spring, 2008.

These modest beginnings play out in the The Dead Trees’ music in the best way – there’s no artifice here, not much “production” to speak of, just a bunch of good musicians doing what comes naturally on a batch of deceptively elegant songs. Two guitars, background vocals here and there, a manic drum fill when necessary. It all feels easy and right. Says Michael: “We don’t deprive any of our songs. They’re like our children, all different and each as important as the next. We’re just borrowing from our heroes and trying to raise a family.”
