Born in Los Angeles, CA in December 1984 of two very loving parents came Quionne ‘Chill’ Pittman. With the heavy influence of his parents, Chill at the early age of 3 began beating out syncopated patterns on anything he could find. Whether it was a T.V. commercial or the theme music to the many sitcoms that were playing on the television, he had rhythm and a keen ear for sounds even creating his own. While in elementary school, his parents presented him with his first set of drums along with 8 pairs of drumsticks from his play uncle the late Eulis ‘Soko’ Richardson. Soko encouraged him at every opportunity to continue and prompted him to listen to all genres of music and not to lock himself into one style. ‘All music is good music, you just need to feel it’ was something he always told him. Needless to say, with the versatility Chill displays in production, He never forgot. While attending Warren Lane Middle school in the 8th grade he began using an old Atari workstation to crank out his ideas and by his senior year at Inglewood High School, Chill was able to run full recording sessions with friends and clients at DoodleTown Studios, the L.A location his father produced from for many years.. As his production continued to expand, his way with words became a new priority for him as he began recording songs of his own and providing features for his father's artists. Performing at clubs such as the Troubadour, Club Lingerie, The Key Club, Lush, and Cinespace to name a few, Chill has honed his very own style that can be compared to none.
Aaron Childs - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Determined, productive, and dedicated--that’s the kind of entertainer Childs is. Compositions he’s created, such as “Can’t Tell You Why,” “The Highs and Lows,” and “Drop Everything,” demonstrate his vision of combining jazz elements with blues and contemporary pop music. These traits also define him as a musician. Childs is passionate and open-minded. Not only does he aspire to be a highly respected guitarist but he also intends to become a prominent singer-songwriter whose unique sound is formed by mingling jazz, blues and contemporary pop music. Furthermore, the skills sets he has at his age show that he’s on track to achieve his vision. His performances exude a high degree of confidence and improvisational skill on the guitar. He plays with his whole body: Yeah... you know what that means: And instead of simply strumming the guitar, Childs gets into it inspiring the audience to feel his music and do the same. The breadth of Aaron's talents run the gamut from his performance skills to his vocal abilities to his knowledge of composing. But it doesn't stop there. His first instrument was the piano, and he’s composed much of his recent material on this secondary instrument of choice.. Aaron Childs will make his mark. Bring your ears to his world to hear what his music says to you. Be prepared for much more than a song and dance.
About Taylor Simonee
Music surrounded me at a very early age. I remember all of the Christmas Eve parties where my mother, father, and play-aunts would perform songs to the family like a sold out concert. Although my parents were background singers, I never thought she would become a singer/songwriter until about 14. During a stressful school schedule, and the angst filled daily life of a teenager (lol), I found relief in spoken word and songwriting. Writing songs for me has always been cathartic, and I consider a well- crafted song to be a prize in itself. I got a great response from performing her first song, “I’m Running”, at a talent show (go Marlborough!), and it gave me the confidence to continue writing. 3 years and dozens of songs later, I am still writing! I have performed at the Hollywood Palladium, the Los Angeles Coliseum, and I have done other small shows at the Mint. MUSIC IS MY PASSION and I want to follow it as far as it will take me. I make sure to present myself in a way that is not degrading, and I want to make positive, real lyrics cool to listen to again! I want to bridge the gap between today’s popular music and yesterday’s positive music, but still keep it mainstream for people to bump in their cars. I takes pride in that my songs and poems are pretty dense and meaningful, and I hope that artists like me can influence others to not be too taken with the beat and actually listen. I have a unique style, and I hope you really enjoy the music!
