Jhameel - (Set time: 10:00 PM)
Jhameel
Jhameel was once set on the path to officer-ship in the United States Army. Although his linguistic skills in Arabic, Spanish, Korean, and Russian would have been highly rewarded in the military, Jhameel quit the program before signing an irrevocable contract due to personal beliefs about U.S. presence in the Middle East. He then earned a degree in Arabic from UC Berkeley within just two years, graduating summa cum laude. Immediately after, he began his career in music.

Jhameel creates explosively funky music comprised of soul-stirring guitar, immersive synthesizers, triumphant brass, and athletic, melodic vocals inspired equally by Prince and Michael Jackson. He plays each and every instrument on his records himself, creating catchy melodies that settle easily into your mind with human lyrical themes that continue to challenge the heart. Jhameel's skills extend to the mixing board too, as he produces his own music.

Jhameel's second album, The Human Condition propelled "Bernal Heights" and "The Human Condition" to the top of the Hype Machine Popular Charts. He followed up with the Dance EP, which featured the furiously energetic "Shut Up", a track that not only took over the Hype Machine charts once more, but became Forever 21's flagship song for the fall of 2011. In the winter of 2011, Jhameel presented his five song WAVES series, in which he released a new single every Tuesday for five weeks. The title track "Waves", reached #2 on both Hype Machine and We Are Hunted, while "Collision" was used in a national advertisement for Verizon's Droid RAZR. Jhameel showed true versatility with "White Lie", a hip-hop inspired pop song which reached #10 on Hype Machine.

"Jhameel's second LP, The Human Condition, is an album of classically-influenced pop that struggles gracefully with the big issues of our time. It's so graceful that it could put him in the running to be the voice of his generation." --MTV
Father Tiger - (Set time: 9:00 PM)
Father Tiger
FATHER TIGER is a modern indie synthpop duo with a love of vintage analog synthesizers and everything mid-century modern. Having grown up on opposite ends of Los Angeles county, members Greg Delson and John Russell now both reside in Hollywood, where they met in 2005 at audio engineering school.

Often compared to Cut Copy, M83, Holy Ghost!, Hot Chip, Passion Pit, and Robyn, the band's sound is nonetheless unique. Combining live drums with programmed percussion, layering numerous rare, vintage analog synths and incorporating a vocal arrangement style reminiscent of the Motown era, FATHER TIGER has crafted a thoughtful, vibrant and upbeat sound of its very own.
Walla - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Walla
WALLA formed out of different times, places, and hardships. By random chance, we found each other through digital means and a common love for inventing new wavelengths. After forming a strong friendship and working tirelessly on different prototypes of songs, we finally decided to begin the project, now officially called, WALLA. The name is a reference to the sound and murmur resulting from a large crowd of people. The sound also reflected our confusion and hopelessness during a time of tough life decisions and rough financial circumstances. But through sheer perseverance and the culmination of different influences (everything from pop, funk, samba, rock, metal, folk, disco, and psychedelia) we were able to fuse them all together to create a NEW promising sound... and so it began... We quickly made an indestructible pact to always maintain strong melodies and lyrics, putting above and beyond care and effort into each decibel of sound we produce (almost to the point of neuroticism), and allowing each song to breathe its own life and soul. We loved the idea of not knowing what type of song we would come up with next...

Listeners have described us as a indie pop, synth-based, retro-influenced, indie rock, or something along those lines. But we welcome you to call us whatever you feel, because there are no lines to a feeling, it just has to be genuinely felt. Our credentials range from 2 of our members being graduates from the prestigious Berklee College of Music, while each one have a unique list of experiences as touring in Europe, scoring big band arrangements, and playing sold out concerts and festivals. All members have a background from a different part of the globe (Mexico/El Salvador, Italy, Indonesia, Brazil, Korea) which is advantageous in influencing our songs, but also disadvantageous because we have only a limited time to prove our ground until student visas expire. Nevertheless we press on, in only a couple month, we were graciously invited to share the stage with one of the members of Depeche mode, worked with a Grammy winning producer (Andrew Weiss), and "zoned" out to a collaborative sound through multiple mediums from radio to the more obscure. But still our goal since conception has never changed: to keep doing music out of a passion and pure love for it. The longer we can do it, the better, and the more people who can help and support our journey, the more we keep going..

Picasso once said "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." Despite legal, economical, and financial challenges, WALLA continues to face that problem head on, going face first into the mysteriously inconceivable abyss we call the future... but just like our songs, we never know where WALLA will take us next...and we admit.. we kinda love that...
