Riot pop duo WASI blends the angst of The Clash with the dance anthems of Matt and Kim to create a soundtrack to those So Cal nights of skinny dipping and garage punk shows. Jessie & Merilou produce music that speaks from the voices of those who are trying to be understood during their own tender time.
Dear Kora - (Set time: 9:15 PM)
Dear Kora
"Dear Kora is an ambient rock band based in Los Angeles, California, but with international root. Lead-vocalist Avery Robitaille was raised in Indonesia, where she found inspiration for the band’s name based on a tribe there that she holds close to her heart. The influence from her exotic home combined with her love for alternative and punk-based music helped make her decision to come to university in Los Angeles, where she combined her talents with guitarist Kevin Holm and drummer Sean Baker to create a sound that is able to reflect their musical tastes while bringing a whole new sound to their music-loving audience. With lyrics and a live show that stirs emotion while encouraging listeners to feel their own feelings, Dear Kora is a band that is only on the ascent."
